किसी भी अंक का अंकित मान (face value) उस अंक के मान के बराबर ही होता है तथा स्थान बदलने पर भी नहीं बदलता है जबकि स्थानीय मान बदलने पर बदल जाता है। जैसे:-                 5  4  2  3  5                        /\                      /    \  अंकित मान=2        स्थानीय मान =200

प्राकृतिक संख्या : - जिसकी गिनती की जा सके । जेसै:-1,2,3,4,5,6,7............. पूर्ण संख्या :-0+प्राकृतिक संख्या । 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8............. पूर्णांक :- धन पूर्णांक+0+ऋण पूर्णांक। .......-4,-3,-2,-1,0,+1,+2,+3,+4....... सम संख्या:- जो 2 से पूरी तरह कट जाये।जैसे:-2,4,6,8,10,12....... विषम संख्या:- जो 2 पूरी तरह न कटे । जैसे:- 1,3,5,7,9,11.......... भाज्य संख्या:- जो 1से और अपने आप के अलावा किसी अन्य से कटे ।जैसे:- 4,6,8,9,10,12....... अभाज्य संख्या:- जो 1से तथा अपने आप के अलावा किसी अन्य से न कटे।जैसे:-2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19..... NOTE :-1 न तो भाज्य है न अभाज्य। परिमेय संख्या:-जिसे p/q के रूप मे लिखा जा सके ।जैसे:-2/3,5/6,8/7,8/34............ अपरिमेय संख्या:-जो संख्याएँँ करणी मे हो तथा ऋणात्मक हो। जैसे:-√3,4/√7,√-4,-अभाज्य संख्या:- जो 1से तथा अपने आप के अलावा किसी अन्य से न  5/8............
